1. About the Team
Team Structure
Project Manager - Haddi Almashat
The Project Manager is the team's organizational leader, responsible for managing the project's timeline, budget, and resources. They handle all of the team logistics and communication to ensure the team has what it needs to meet its deadlines.
- Scheduling & Deadlines: They establish and maintain the master schedule, setting key milestones for design, manufacturing, and testing to ensure the car is completed on time.
- Budget & Sponsorship: They manage the team’s finances, track all expenditures, lead sponsorship outreach to secure funding, and oversee the purchasing process.
- Communication: They act as the central communication point for the entire team, ensuring that sub-teams are aligned and that there is a clear line of communication with faculty advisors and sponsors.
- Logistics: They coordinate all administrative and logistical needs, including arranging travel for competition, organizing team meetings, and managing team documentation.
- Technical Mentorship: They guide the leaders of each technical sub-team, offering advice, reviewing designs, and upholding a high standard of engineering practice throughout the project.
Chief Engineer - Tristin Cioli
The Chief Engineer is the team's technical leader, setting the engineering vision and having the final say on all design decisions. They are responsible for ensuring all of the car's systems integrate and function together to maximize performance.
- Technical Vision: They define the high-level performance goals and engineering philosophy of the car (e.g., prioritizing lightweight design, maximizing aerodynamic downforce, or focusing on serviceability).
- Final Design Authority: They make the final call on critical engineering choices, especially when there are conflicts between sub-teams, and are responsible for approving all major designs.
- System Integration: Their most critical role is ensuring that all individual sub-systems—chassis, powertrain, suspension, electronics, and aerodynamics—are designed to work together harmoniously.
- Technical Mentorship: They guide the leaders of each technical sub-team, offering advice, reviewing designs, and upholding a high standard of engineering practice throughout the project.
Subteams
Subteams make up the primary structure of our team. They are individual teams that perform work on different parts of the car. You can choose to join a subteam or try out a couple different ones. Lead’s name is in parentheses. Once you join the slack, feel free to message the lead of the subteam for more information!
- Aerodynamics (Garrett Munger) - Designs and manufactures all aerodynamic surfaces on the car. Nosecone, front & rear wings, side panels, underbody, sidepods. Focused on fluid dynamics simulation and composite manufacturing/analysis.
- Marketing (Roman Fu) - Leads fundraising efforts for all of our money. Focused on sponsor outreach, presentation, and marketing campaigns
